McNeely, Head of Patrol Section of the U.S. Naval Air Test Center at NAS Patuxent River, Maryland (USA), was at the controls during this flight. The XJR2F-1 first flew on 24 October 1947. It was redesignated UF-1 before production started and finally became the HU-16 in the tri-service scheme of 1962. |
